CHRHF 1993 Jockey Inductee David Gall passes at age 79

The Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame extends condolences to the family and friends of jockey David Gall who passed away on August 1st at age 79 of natural causes.
Gall, originally from Rose Valley, Saskatchewan was inducted into the Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame in 1993 and was also presented with the Avelino Gomez Award in 1996.
Gall began his career in Canada on the Prairie circuit before moving to the US where he rode at Bay Meadows and Tanforan in Northern California and Arizona, eventually making his home at Fairmount Park in southern Illinois.
In a career that consisted of 41,709 races over 43 years, Gall accumulated 7,394 wins and was twice the leading rider in North America in terms of victories with 479 in 1979 and 376 in 1981.
